Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University was founded on October 3, 1887 as a state normal college for colored students. It started out with 15 students and 2 instructors, now, FAMU is widely known and has nearly 11,000 students enrolled from more than 70 countries across the world. Florida A&M University is located on 1800 Wahnish Way Tallahassee Fl. The satellite campuses are in: Miami, Jacksonville, and Tampa (for the pharmaceutical programs) and Orlando (for the school of law).

The FAMU admission requirements are: an application and application fee, official transcript, two-letters of recommendation, SAT or ACT test scores, and an essay (included in application) answering the question of: "What qualities or unique characteristics do you possess that would allow you to contribute to the university community?"
The essential SAT score is - math-460, critical reading-460, and a writing of 440. Or you must have an ACT test score of at least - reading-19, math-19, and a combined English/writing of 18.
You must have at least a 2.55-2.99 GPA. For the pharmaceutical sciences, students need to have a 3.0 GPA, specifically in math and science.
